Ras Moshe Ensemble featuring Matt Lavelle, Tor Yochai Snyder, Dave Miller

Ras Moshe has been playing in various groups throughout New York City for almost twenty years, with William Hooker, Sabir Mateen, Steve Swell, Marc Edwards and others. His style has been compared to post-1965 John Coltrane and Frank Wright, among others. Born and raised in New York, and with a family history rich in the jazz tradition, Ras has uniquely positioned himself to bring the lineage of free jazz into the present day.

Thinguma*jigSaw: Two elusive, exceptional, pivotal personalities – cunningly spinning a web of flamboyant brouhahas within the idiom of their own device: charming, clever, generous, sinister splatterfolk. Splatterfolk combines elements of traditional Irish/British/American folk with contemporary art music, and spices it up with lyrical and musical components usually associated with horror films, experimental theatre and modernistic poetry. There is also an abundance of film and popcultural references. It’s the new revolution within the folk music – scene of today, and you will find no finer exponents of this subversive art than Thinguma*jigSaw.

Sooki & The Sting Rays: One Christmas, not long ago, two best friends, Wednesday Shedd and Ray McAndrew, both got ukuleles. They formed Sooki and The Sting Rays, a duo band from Syracuse. They play hardcore death metal music with a twist.
